Arianna McCoy is a dedicated member of the Cayman Islands Powerlifting Federation, where she channels her passion for strength and spirit of competition. One of the most significant achievements of her powerlifting journey occurred as a first-time competitor; when she attained the silver medal in bench press and the bronze medal overall at the 20th Annual North American Regional Powerlifting Competition in August 2023. The experience was a significant testament to her commitment and perseverance, as Arianna has always strived to push her limits and surpass expectations.
In powerlifting and her academics, Arianna has been determined to reach new heights and inspire others along the way. She recently graduated from the University of Warwick (UK) with a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours) in Health and Medical Sciences. Currently, she is pursuing an accelerated master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Essex.
As a Proud of Them Honouree, Arianna is eager to give back to the community by serving as an inspiration to aspiring athletes in the Cayman Islands. She hopes to share that with hard work and dedication, other youth can achieve excellence in their chosen field. Through mentorship, support, and a commitment to fostering a culture of achievement, she aims to encourage young talents to pursue their passion and represent our community on a global stage.
Arianna’s ultimate goal is to inspire this next generation, instilling in them the values of discipline, perseverance, and the belief that they can achieve greatness in powerlifting and beyond. While there are many heavy challenges faced by youth, she believes that uplifting each other is a way to overcome these and to thrive.
