Christon has a very bright future ahead of him, having added many strings to his bow at a tender age. At 14, he has already set the bar extremely high for other Proud of Them nominees to follow, with outstanding achievements in academics, sports, music, cadetting and community service.
Throughout his primary school years, and now high school, Christon has gained excellent academic results, having excelled in maths and helping his school house win his school’s maths challenge and becoming junior maths champion. He has also been a Spelling Bee champion at both the primary and high school level. Christon has been awarded the Academic Gold Award and is currently working to continue this excellent trend.
A high achiever from an early age, Christon sat the Cayman Island Cricket Association Qualifying Examination, and was successful, at the age of just nine years and nine months, making him the youngest qualified umpire ever, proudly achieving this with his father simultaneously.
Spurred on by this achievement, Christon qualified as a Cayman Islands Football Association Referee at 11.
Athletics is also a passion for Christon, having been the Champion Boy for the Cayman Brac Primary Schools in 2017. He is also a member of the Cayman Brac Football Club where he currently plays in the under Eighteen National League.
Christon’s faith as a Christian has led him to become active in the Youth Department of All Nations UPC Church where he enjoys playing music. Another passion is his love of photography and videography, and he describes himself as a graphic design enthusiast, for which he confirms he is mastering the skills on the way to making his hobby a career. During the COVID quarantine he started accepting commissions, the proceeds from which he invested in his future career as a graphic designer.
