Exam season is notoriously stressful and it can be difficult at times to manage your time in and out of school. Here are some tips on alleviating the pressure as well as effective planning.
Do you work better in a study group or do you prefer to study alone? Consider the ways you can improve your learning, and reduce your stress during this time.
To have more structure, try making a study schedule and sticking to it. Create a screen-time limit on all devices; as technology can be a great tool but we may procrastinate and get distracted.
To have more peace of mind during this season make an effort to exercise. That can seem like too much but physical activity such as biking, brisk walking, swimming and even dancing incite endorphins (the brain’s feel-good transmitters), thus lowering stress or anxiety.
Consider rewarding yourself for the little things along the way. If you had a successful study session or passed a mock exam, treat yourself.
As a final tip; exam grades do not define you. Simply do your best!
While students can apply these tips to exam season; anyone can use these when they find themselves facing stressful periods in life. The most important tip is to take the time you need to be mindful during the busiest of times.
