Twenty four-year-old Lorena Morejon is no stranger to success. She has blazed a trail of excellence since her days as a student at Triple C School. While at Triple C, Lorena featured on the Academic Honor Roll and the Principal’s Citizenship Honor Roll each year due to her outstanding performance. For two consecutive years, she also earned exceptional scores on the Stanford Achievement Test. Lorena graduated in 2014 with a 3.88 GPA and the distinction of Class Salutatorian.
Four years later, she graduated from St John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in TV and Film Production. Her 3.92 GPA earned her a spot in the top ten per cent of her class, and allowed her to graduate with the distinction of “Cum Laude”. During her junior year at St. John's University, she was accepted to the University’s Discover the World, Study Abroad Europe Program. Through this programme, she was able to study in Paris, Rome and Seville.
In 2016, she participated in the first annual Cayman Islands Poinciana film Festival and won the award for Best Screen Play. The following year, she won the award for Best Short Film.
After earning her bachelor’s degree at St John’s University, she went on to obtain a master’s degree in Marketing Communication from Westminster University in London.
Outside of the classroom Lorena is quite passionate about community service. Her community service activities have included volunteer work at the C.I. Humane Society, the Cayman Islands Hospital, and community clean-ups.
While in Rome, she fed the homeless who live outside the Vatican and in New York she joined with Habitat for Humanity to paint rooms at a children's community centre.
She is also quite the athlete and was a member of the volleyball and soccer teams during high school.
