From a very young age, I excelled in Academics. I believe this can be credited to the encouragement of my parents and teachers who believed in my abilities and motivated me to strive for excellence. With their support and my own determination, I set out on a path fueled by a desire to reach my full potential. Not only did I work hard to maintain exceptional grades, I developed a strong interest in extracurricular activities, specifically discovering a passion in public speaking.
Throughout the years, I have received various awards, participated in my competitions and strived to represent Cayman Brac and the Cayman Islands on both a local and regional level. This year, I graduated Salutatorian of my high school class with 11 CXC subjects placing 10th on the CXC Merit List for Religious Education and 6th in Digital Media. I have won competitions such as the Amin Mohammed Steel Pan Band Competition, Sea Perch, Credit Union and Ormond Panton essay competitions, Conyers Debate, the Claudette Upton Speak Off and the Inter House Knowledge Bowl. I was the President of my Junior Achievement group as well. Notably, I was also the 2022 Junior Minister of Tourism for the Cayman Islands and represented our Islands at CTO’s Regional Tourism Youth Congress. I have placed second in the CUC Essay competition, been the 2nd runner up best debater on the Opposition in Youth Parliament, and received silver awards in the NCFA. I have received the LSHS Debate Award, Claudette Upton Keeley Award, the Rotary Honors Award, the LSHS Salutatorian Award.
Currently, I am pursuing my Associate’s degree in Literary Studies at UCCI, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.84. Recently, I was awarded for being on the President’s list in both Spring and Fall for the academic year of 2023-2024. I plan to continue to excel in academics, and get my Bachelors in Law once I have completed my Associates degree. I am committed to making a difference in our community by becoming a Lawyer and in working towards this goal, I completed the Walkers Legal Mentorship Programme this April, being the first person from Cayman Brac to do so.
An interesting fact about myself is that I love public speaking. I also love volunteering with children and I am passionate about my faith in Jesus. I wish to give back to the community by being a Proud of Them Honouree and being a good role model to other young Caymanians.
